چکیده

In the membrane distillation bioreactor (MDBR) process, flux increases with increasing feed temperature, but presence of microorganisms limits temperature. Also, accumulation cells and other substances on surface can affect efficiency MDBR. this study, hospital wastewater was treated by thermophilic activated sludge MDBR, initial 7.87 L‧m−2·h−1 stable 3.88 L‧m−2·h−1. The particle size, zeta potential hydrophobicity in MDBR were 2.25 µm, −14 mV 24%, respectively. addition, EPS (extracellular polymeric substances) SMP (soluble microbial products), having a significant effect fouling, determined to be 201.50 mg·L−1 669.35 Contact angle, FTIR (Fourier transform infrared), SEM (scanning electron microscope) EDX (energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy) measurements also made virgin used membrane. Analysis EDX, F-TIR showed that fouling caused CaCO3 EPS.

The Study of Organic Removal Efficiency and Membrane Fouling in a Submerged Membrane Bioreactor Treating Vegetable Oil Wastewater

The characterizations of vegetable oil wastewater (VOW) are unpleasant odor, dark color, and high organic contents, including large amounts of oil and grease (O&G), chemical oxygen demand (COD), fatty acids and lipids. Therefore, VOWs should be treated efficiently to avoid the environment pollution. The aim of present study was the investigation of VOW biological treatment using membrane biorea...

Fouling and cleaning of reverse osmosis membrane applied to membrane bioreactor effluent treating textile wastewater

Membrane bioreactor (MBR) and reverse osmosis (RO) membrane system was applied to the treatment and reclamation of textile wastewater in Thailand. An experiment was carried out to determine the fouling behavior and effect of anti-scalant and biocide addition to flux decline and its recovery through chemical cleaning. The RO unit was operated for one month after which the fouled membranes were c...

Efficient treatment of baker’s yeast wastewater using aerobic membrane bioreactor

A membrane bioreactor (MBR) system based on a dead-end immersed hollow fiber membrane and filamentous fungus Aspergillus oryzae were used for treatment of baker’s yeast wastewater. The fungus was adapted to the wastewater in the bioreactor for two weeks before starting the continuous process. Average organic loading rate of 4.2 kg COD/m3.d was entered the bioreactor. MBR system was able to redu...

Study on Operational Conditions to Minimize Membrane Fouling in Membrane Bioreactor (MBR) System for Wastewater Treatment-Preliminary Pilot Tests

In this study, effect of antiscalant usage on minimizing of membrane fouling due to high water hardness during wastewater treatment tests run by a pilot-scale membrane bioreactor (MBR) system. The membranes used in these studies were Kubota flat sheet MBR membranes made from polyethylene with a pore size of 0.4 micrometer. Preliminary tests were carried out with tap water...

Development of a Comprehensive Fouling Model for a Rotating Membrane Bioreactor System Treating Wastewater

Membrane bioreactors (MBRs) are now main stream wastewater treatment technologies. In recent times, novel pressure driven rotating membrane disc modules have been specially developed that induce high shear on the membrane surface, thereby reducing fouling. Previous research has produced dead-end filtration fouling model which combines all three classical mechanisms that was later used by anothe...
